• Ellison Rimbey

Ellison began refereeing in 2023 after receiving an email about new referee recruitment. A lifelong soccer fan, she was curious about officiating and signed up to gain a new perspective on the game.

Since then, Ellison has learned a lot about herself, the players, and the sport. Becoming part of the CVSRA family was an unexpected but welcome surprise. The high fives and support during tough matches have always reminded her that someone has her back.

Recently, Ellison officiated a match between Collegiate High School and Midlothian High School at City Stadium—her first time refereeing at a stadium. She looks back on the experience fondly and will never forget that milestone moment.

  • Aaryan Saxena

Aaryan began refereeing when he was 13 years old. He was drawn to referee because of his love for the game—and for fast food, which wouldn’t pay for itself! Refereeing seemed like a win-win.

Aaryan credits his growth in refereeing to his mentors, from whom he has had the privilege of learning many perspectives. Refereeing has helped him grow beyond the field as well, making him a more responsible and diligent individual.

Recently, Aaryan officiated his first collegiate match between Longwood and Old Dominion. He embraced the opportunity, learned a great deal from his referee crew, and fully immersed himself in the excitement that comes with collegiate soccer.
